This year’s Book and Trade Fair will include over 100 exhibitors displaying new publications on art history, studio art, cultural theory, architecture, gender studies, and museum practices; artists’ materials—including paints, brushes, graphics materials, paper, frames, easels, lighting, printmaking supplies, ceramics, sculpting and modeling supplies, graphic-design supplies, digital-studio supplies, and photographic, video, and film supplies; digital resources; and other innovative products of interest to artists and scholars. Programs and services on display include digital-image resources, programs in advanced-degree studies, foreign study and teaching, national arts-advocacy organizations, exhibition promotion, studio and residency programs, galleries, academic testing and research firms, and professional associations.

At the Book and Trade Fair you can meet distinguished authors and editors at book signings, attend informative lectures and demonstrations, and get together with the editors of The Art Bulletin and Art Journal who will be available to answer your questions and discuss their journals.

Admission is FREE with conference registration badge. For those not registered for the full conference, Exhibit Hall tickets are available in the registration area, Second Floor Promenade, during registration hours.

Chair: Mark Gottsegen, Art Materials Information and Education Network and author of The Painter’s Handbook Experts from Gamblin Artist Colors, Holbein Artist’s Materials, Savoire Faire (importer of Lascaux and Sennelier paints), Winsor & Newton, ColArt Americas, Utrecht Art Supplies, and Golden Artist Colors will present information on grounds, substrates, gessoes, primers, and sizes as well as treatments and application methods for various supports.

Presentations followed by a short panel discussion and Q&A.
