Mentoring Sessions | 2007 Annual Conference | College Art Association

Members in all disciplines are eligible for two mentoring programs: Artists’ Portfolio Mentoring Sessions and Career Development Mentoring Sessions. The mentoring sessions are scheduled by appointment only. All participants must be current CAA individual members.

Preregistration only; no onsite registration.

Participants preregister using the application form. The printed form must be faxed to 212-627-2381; or mailed to the address on the form care of Beth Herbruck.

Deadline for applications: December 1, 2006.

All applicants will be notified of their scheduled date and time slot via e-mail by January 31, 2007. CAA will make every effort to accommodate all applicants; however, participation is limited.

Artists’ Portfolio Mentoring Sessions

Appointments will be scheduled in the following 20-minute time slots:

Thursday and Friday 8:00 AM–Noon; 1:00–5:00 PM

Concourse Level, Concourse C, Hilton New York

CAA artist members may present slides, CDs, DVDs, or VHS-format videos of their work for review by professional curators, critics, and educators in individual, twenty-minute consultations. Participants may discuss issues with experts in the field and ask questions about portfolio formats, visual sequencing, and professional advancement through the artist portfolio.

Career Development Mentoring Sessions

Appointments will be scheduled in the following 20-minute time slots:

Thursday and Friday 8:00 AM–Noon and 1:00–5:00 PM

Concourse Level, Concourse B, Hilton New York

Artists, art historians, museum professionals, media specialists, designers, and art educators at all career stages are eligible to take part in one-on-one consultations with professionals in their fields. Participants will receive candid advice about résumés, cover letters, interview preparation, and other career-advancement goals.
