Chairs for 2½-hour sessions

Do I need to be a CAA member to speak at the conference?
Yes. CAA individual membership is required of all participants in 2½-hour committee-vetted sessions. For membership information, please call 212-691-1051, ext. 12, or visit www.collegeart.org/membership/individual.html.

As a chair, do I receive complimentary registration?
No. You do not have to pay for registration if you merely want to chair your own session. However, if you would like to attend the conference in its entirety and receive a badge and conference publications, you must register for the conference.

When I arrive at the conference, I should check in with CAA?
A meeting for chairs is held at 7:30 on each morning of the conference in the Speaker Ready Room, located in Room 410 on Level 2 Concourseof the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Should I meet the speakers for my session before it starts?
It is a good idea to set up a time and place to meet your speakers onsite, individually or collectively, prior to your session.

Is there an internet connection in my session room?
Regretfully, the cost of providing internet access in meeting rooms is prohibitive and therefore not possible.

If speakers have a question regarding AV equipment, do I direct them to the CAA Programs Department to discuss their issues directly?
Please direct them to the AV information sheet. If a speaker has more specific questions, please remember that you must mediate between them and CAA.

Can CAA provide my panel with a laptop?
No computers are provided by CAA. Please make arrangements prior to the conference. If you or your speakers plan to use a Mac, you must bring your own connection cord or dongle.

Is every session room equipped with slide projectors?
No. Slide projectors will not be provided in any session rooms unless your session chair made a request by the July 1, 2008 deadline.  Please confirm with your session chair to see if he or she has requested a slide projector for your session room.

If my session room does have slide projectors, are extra slide carousels available?
Yes. You may check out carousels from the Speaker Ready Room, located in the Room 410 on Level 2 concourse of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Hours are: Wednesday and Saturday: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM; 1:30 to 6:00 PM; Thursday and Friday: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM; 1:30 to 7:30 PM.

Can I order more AV equipment onsite?
No equipment is added onsite.

Can my speakers send their Audio Consent Forms directly to CAA?

No, individual forms are not accepted by CAA from individual speakers. Please collect all forms for your session and turn them in to CAA together.
