Speakers and discussants for 1½-hour committee-vetted sessions
Do I need to be a CAA member to participate?
No. Membership is not required. If you would like to join CAA, please call 212-691-1051, ext. 12, or visit www.collegeart.org/membership/individual.html.
As a speaker, do I have to register for the conference?
No. You are not required to register to speak at your session. If you would like to attend the conference in its entirety and receive a badge and conference publications, you must register for the conference.
Is there a place that I should check in at the conference?
No. You do not need to check in. Please contact your chair prior to the conference about where and when to meet after arriving in Los Angeles.
Is there an internet connection in my session room?
Regretfully, the cost of providing internet access in meeting rooms is prohibitive and therefore not possible.
Does CAA provide my panel with a laptop?
No laptops will be provided. Please make arrangements prior to the conference. If you plan to use a Mac, you must bring your own connection cord or dongle.
I would like to use PowerPoint instead of showing slides. Is my session room equipped with a digital projector?
All session rooms are equipped with digital projectors. If you plan to use a Mac, you must bring your own connection cord or dongle.
Is every session room equipped with slide projectors?
No. Slide projectors will not be provided in any session rooms unless you made a request by the July 1, 2008, deadline. Please confirm with your session chair to see if he or she has requested a slide projector for your session room.
If my session room does have slide projectors, are extra slide carousels available?
Yes. You may check out carousels from the Speaker Ready Room, located in Room 410 on Level 2 Concourse of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Hours are: Wednesday and Saturday: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM; 1:30 to 6:00 PM; Thursday and Friday: 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM; 1:30 to 7:30 PM.
Who do I talk to about AV equipment?
Please see the AV information sheet. If you have more specific questions, please speak to your session chair.
Can I print my session paper at the conference?
You may want to print your paper before leaving for the conference. There is no opportunity to do so onsite, free of cost.
